UPDATE! 4/9/12 - There are five $1,000 scholarships available and the deadline for submitting your application has been extended to May - exact dates forthcoming.

Let's face it, there is not a lot of news in Morada, but there is a lot going on. This site will attempt to let Morada residents share and interact with each other. And when there is something happening in Morada or the area, hopefully you can find out about it here.

Updating website - Problems

05/09/12 - Website seems to be OK. A few more bugs to fix and we will be able to update the site so that it is more user friendly.

4/28/2012 - You may have noticed that the site was down for 18 hours or so. With the recent update, several problems were encountered - working to resolve the issues. If you encounter errors, please use "Contact" in the Navigation menu. Thanks!

4/24/2012 - over the next few days - we will be updating this website and may be offline for an hour or so each day.

Update 4/25/2012 - Nala was found the next day! Our female Rhodesian Ridgeback is missing. She is about 80 pounds, brown, with white on her front paws. She has a tiger-striped collar with her name "Nala" on it, with our contact information in it as well. She has arthritis nd will probably come to you if you call her - especially if you have food! At our meeting last week, Steve Moore addressed questions about the home invasion. He stated that after reading the report, there was evidence that may suggest the home invaders may have known either the resident or the house keeper. Steve stated that one reason a burglar wears a mask is because they do not want to be recognized. Apparently the burglars also told the house keeper to look away and not to look them in the face, another indicator that they didn't want her to recognize them. Statistics have shown that most home invasions are not random.

Helicopter chase suspect

I live closer to 8 Mile Road and was just getting home while the search was taking place. When the Sheriff left the area and the helicopter left I guessed that they caught who they were looking for. He was important enough to chase but not important enough to catch? I don't understand how they could be chasing this guy and he gets away. What is his connection to Morada? Can someone investigate that? If he was here, is he tied to crimes in Morada?

We met a Morada neighbor who lives several streets over from us at Lowes on Sunday. She told us that she gets email every time something happens in Morada. Are there archives on the website? How do we sign up for the email? I agree that the trailer needs to go.

When an eyesore becomes part of the scenery

Take a stroll, or drive to the market you pass it so many times it has become part of the scenery. Calls to the county, to the sheriff and even elected officials go without satisfaction. What is the hold the property owner has over these agencies? Why has it been allowed to remain part of our scenery? One answer was that it was for storage for ongoing construction (baloney). The house exterior is complete the garage is sealed anything in the eyesore can be moved into the home structure. So what is the eyesore? If you haven't a clue by now proves my point.
